Tips on Staying Germ-Free

There are some very commonsensical ways of stopping the spread of germs. We are all thinking about this while many states and retailers require masks and many stores are still low on germ-killing wipes as we all battle the effects of COVID 19 in some way or another. We are cleaning doorknobs, staying six feet from everyone, and washing our hands more vigilantly than ever before.

The CDC keeps telling us to wash our hands, stay six feet apart, and wear a mask. If you ever doubted the effectiveness of washing your hands now is the time to stop the doubt for your sake and all the people around you. Please wash thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with antibacterial soap and dry them with a clean towel. If you must use hand sanitizer as a substitute, make sure it has at least 60% alcohol.

The tiny unseen germs can cause big issues and pass from person to person when we touch anything that has been touched by unwashed hands. Every person sneezes, coughs, and poops, it is natural and we unconsciously touch our eye, nose, and mouth throughout the day. But not every person washes their hands. Washing your hands protects you and the people around you. If you wash your hands you stop spreading germs both ways. If you touch a germ-infested hand railing and then wash your hands you are less likely to spread those germs to yourself.

“A good bidet with washing and drying features helps to prevent getting germs on your hands.”

Because we all have natural body functions to take care of and most likely we use the lavatory for these, even blowing our nose, the restroom is a germy place. Frequent washing is better and the less we touch the better. We can cut down on the spread by not touching the same things that everyone else touches in the lavatory. We often spread germs without even thinking about it. Here are some ways to cut down on the spread.

  • Flushing with the lid open can land droplets outside of the toilet.
  • A good bidet with washing and drying features helps to prevent getting germs on your hands. Hands are the way we spread those germs because that’s what we touch most items and people with. Hands are what we use to grip, grasp and give to others. We don’t want to give germs.
  • Always wash hands after using the restroom. Clean the restroom frequently with products that contain Clorox. Don’t share hand towels, toothbrushes, or drinking glasses. Common sense, right.

Diligently keeping our hands and bathrooms clean goes a long way toward our health. Bidets, antibacterial soap, Clorox, and no share hand towels are great tools for the job.
